Membership

The New Zealand Pain Society promotes pain research and management to improve outcomes for people with pain and their whānau.  

If you are a health professional interested in pain research and management, join the New Zealand Pain Society.

Membership Categories

Membership within the Society is divided into the following categories :

Any persons who have made long, continued and outstanding contributions in the field of pain research and/or management may be nominated (by at least two regular members on the attached form)

  1.    an Honorary Member (in the case of persons who have not been eligible to be Regular Members of the Society), or

 

  1.    a Life Member (in case of persons who have been Regular Members of the Society).

They will then be elected in by a majority vote of the Regular Members present in person or by proxy at an AGM Meeting.   

 

Life and Honorary Member nomination

 

Retired scientists, physicians and other health professionals with an interest in the objectives of the Society. Retiree members shall not be entitled to vote on matters brought before the membership.

Any person who satisfies the Council that they are a bona fide student at the time of making their application and in a course of full time training at a recognised tertiary educational institution. Student members shall not be entitled to vote on matters brought before the membership.

Persons or organisations including charitable or business corporations who are interested in furthering the purposes of the Society and who are not eligible for election as Regular members. Affiliate members shall not be entitled to vote on matters brought before the membership.

Scientists, physicians and other health professionals interested in the objectives of the Society. Regular members of the Society shall be entitled to one vote on matters brought before the membership.

Any company that satisfies the Council that it has a real and substantial interest in the objectives of the Society. Corporate members shall not be entitled to vote on matters brought before the membership

Membership Fees

Our membership fee structure consists of the following scale. Please choose the correct option based on your Pre-Tax (Gross) Income in NZ dollars.
