Erica registered as a nurse in 2001 and started working for Mid Central Health (MCH) in the general surgical ward. In 2005 she was employed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (then Nurse Clinician) for the Acute Pain Service where she currently resides. She completed a Masters of Nursing through Massey University in 2007 and then in 2009 undertook prescribing practicum as a Certificate of Proficiency. She is a committee member of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Society (New Zealand) and NZNO representative for senior nurses at MCH. She became a member of the NZPS executive Council in 2015. For the Council, Erica is currently involved in reviewing the National Pain Management Knowledge and Skills Framework. Erica is a mum to three boys and enjoy netball and running in her spare time.
